Usually you will not see a Mosiac Layout using portrait photos, because it doesn't blend well; however, it still can be done and look neat as per below.

I have decided to focus on separate techniques on Technique Sundays.
First up:
Mosaic layouts
Doing a Mosaic Layout, despite how it looks, is very fun and easy.
Basic instructions:
1. Make a photo mat at least 2 square inches bigger than your photo size
2. Turn your photo over and measure it out evenly. One inch per box for example
3. Write numbers on the back of each box
4. Cut out the numbers with a cutting tool so they are straight
5. Line up the boxes numerically on your photo mat (make sure its not upside down or reversed, otherwise you may not see the photo properly)
6. Using a ruler, glue down each box leaving a small gap
